London, UK 16th May 2016: The UK’s top data science start-up, Black Swan has announced the appointment of a new US MD as moves to capitalise on the demand for its services across North America. The company has also been named as having the fastest-growing international sales of any SME in the UK, according to The Sunday Times, SME Export Track 100.
Jeff Headley joins the company as the US Managing Director and will be based in the company’s New York office. Jeff has over 26 years experience in technology, marketing and analytics, having previously been Global Head of Personalisation at Dunnhumby. In his role at Dunnhumby, he ran big data-led projects for the likes of Tesco, Macy’s, Kroger and AutoZone, helping to personalise customer experiences, to increase loyalty and engagement. His role at Black Swan will be to lead US operations and help the company grow and build on the work it’s already doing for the likes of Disney, PepsiCo, Samsung and GSK.
Jeff’s appointment comes as the company has been listed by The Sunday Times as having the fasted-growing international sales of any private SME in the UK. Black Swan has been exporting websites and mobile applications for in-flight consumer entertainment, based on the escalation in demand for an in-flight internet connection. Partnered with Panasonic Avionics, Black Swan has supplied over 50 international airlines including British Airways, Emirates, American Airlines, Cathay and Qantas.
Additionally, Black Swan’s prediction platform ‘The Nest’ has been used globally by a number of high-profile clients. The platform monitors international trends across the internet to create predictions to power product innovation and marketing solutions. The Nest’s predictions have assisted in the creation of marketing campaigns such as the promotion of the use of vitamins in Asia before the onset of cold and flu locally, and to help FMCG brands understand the consumer’s changing opinions on some of the ingredients in their products.
